Useful Apps for iPods/iPhones and Android Phones

Listed here are some useful Apps I found for the iPod/iPhone and Android smartphones.

For both platforms.  Desmos Graphing Calculator is an AMAZING tool.  There is an app available in the iTunes store and Google Play store as well as the website desmos.com/calculator

iPod/iPhone

The Chemical Touch Lite - by Christopher Fennel.  A very useful periodic table.  Contains all the essential pieces of information you will need for high school chemistry such as ion charge, atomic number and atomic mass.

Free Graphing Calculator - by William Jockusch.  A very good free graphing calculator.  Does the same things as the $130 TI-83 plus.

Khan Academy Video Series - Videos from the Khan Academy.  Useful for reference or if you just need someone else to explain the topic to you.  You can also visit the Khan Academy at http://www.khanacademy.org/
The Khan Academy has videos for math (pre-algebra up to calculus),  chemistry, physics, biology and other subjects.

Android OS

Formulas Lite - A useful reference that contains formulas for chemistry, math and physics.  Also contains a periodic table and other reference materials.

Arity - A graphing calculator.  Decent and free.

Calculus Tools - A more powerful graphing calculator.  Has the same functionality as the TI-83 and can also do derivations and 3d plots.

gMol - A molar mass calculator.  Useful for checking your work when calculating the molar mass of something.

PeriodicPad - Another periodic table.  Contains a lot of useful information but might be too much for high school.
