Arocena Cup Update

Some updates to the Arocena Cup

In block 1, Kaitlin scored the highest on the Waves test and the Odds built a marble roller coaster worth more than what the Evens built.  They now have an 11-8 lead over the Evens!

In Block 2, the Evens won another review game and now have a 5-3 lead over the Odds.

Block 4 is holding steady with 10 points.

Playland Primer

To all my physics students, you guys are going to have a lot of fun at Playland.  I got to go on the rides today with a bunch of other teachers to get a feel for the experiments you guys are going to be doing, and let me tell you, it is going to be lots of fun!  You can really get going on that wooden roller coaster and it is amazing how many Gs you experience on the corners.

If any of you still want to go, there's room for 1 or 2 more at the hostel.  Just get your names to me and your payment to Mrs. Horita before the end of the week and I'll add you to the list.

We're going to be doing a little amusement park physics on Thursday and Friday to help you guys get prepared for the trip on May 3rd.

Physics 12 Assignment

Today's assignment:
 - Start on the Chapter 5 (Electrostatics) Review page 163-165 #1-9, 13, 16, 18
 - For 16 and 18 remember that Potential (aka. Voltage) and Work are scalar quantities so you can add and subtract, multiply and divide like regular numbers (aka don't use vector addition).

My personal favourites are Demolition City (1 & 2) and Crush the Castle.

Physics Field Trip

Alrighty, for those who are curious, the administration has given the green light for the trip to Playland in early May. I just need a head count of who all is willing to go.
