Math 8
Today's assignment: - Complete the Factoring worksheet
Mr.Arocena i tryed watching the video you psted explaining prime factors but it wouldnt work. I dont understand what it is your looking for on our worksheet? my mom says for example its suppose to be done as 2x5squaredx6. thankyou
For the worksheet I'd like you to prime factor the numbers and then tell me if it is a square or not.
Remember that when you prime factor you need to break down all the factors until you only have prime numbers. Also some of the prime numbers could be large.
A square number is one that has a nice square root. For example 16 is a square number because it has a square root of 4.
Remember, in order for a number to be square you have to be able to group the prime factors into two equal groups of numbers. Example: The prime factors of 16 are 2,2,2 and 2. Because you can group them into two equal groups (2,2 and 2,2) it is a square number.
