Halloween Egg Drop Pod Results!

Apologies for not posting anything in the last few weeks.  Just keeps slipping my mind.

Anyways, this deserves a post.  The results from the Halloween Egg Drop Pod lab!

First, only one drop pod did not make the first drop!  And of the ones that did make the drop 3 of the 6 managede to survive the 2nd alternate drop.  2 of the 3 also came from Team Left so Team Left will earn a point in the Arocena Cup.

Pictures of everyone with their drop pods are here (I made comments about each pod too):  https://goo.gl/photos/G7cgAfbdzngxx5qq5

Also congratulations to Team Left for earning two points on the last test.  Mari gets the highest mark and the most interesting comics all came from the left side (couldn't decide between Isabella, Amy or Nadia's work)

Scores for this block are now 6-5 in favour of Team Left.  Well done!

Chem 11 Arocena Cup Update

Stoichiometry test results are in!

Highest score goes to Team Left (only because the highest scores on Team Right already scored a point) and the last question point goes to Team Left as well!  There were a few good answers from both sides but the deciding factor was that a few members of Team Right didn't answer the last question.  As a result Team Left wins that point through sheer volume of interesting/amusing/creative answers.

Scores are now
Team Left - 7
Team Right - 5

Arocena Cup Update

Been a while since I updated anything here!  Apologies to all my students.

Anyways a new term has started so here are how the teams are stacking up in the Arocena Cup race.

Block 1
Team First 2 Rows - 11
Team Last 2 Rows - 11

Fierce competition here and a lot closer than what might have been expected.  Good work by both sides to keep things close and entertaining.

Block 2
Team Right - 3
Team Left - 3

Chemistry slowed us down a bit but both sides are still even.  Not much time to competitions but that may change this term so still lots of opportunity to earn points.

Block 3
Team Right - 4
Team Left - 4

Both sides have some strong members (both academically and artistically) so this should be a close match up until the end.  Only 3 tests left though so the teams will have to make the most out of each opportunity to earn points.

Block 4
Team Right - 5
Team Left - 5

Much like Block 3, both sides have some strong competitors.  Lots of material left to cover so lots of opportunities to earn points.  Keep working hard until the end!

Arocena Cup Update

Tests have been marked in all classes and the following teams in each block have earned points based on the highest score and the answers to the last question on the tests.

Block 1
Sahej earns a point for Team Left for the highest score on the Chapter 1 test but Kiah had the most amusing answer to the last question so earns Team Right a point.
Scores are
Team Left 2
Team Right 1

Block 2
Christian earns the highest score on the Chapter 1 test earning Team Left a point so that ties things up in this block.
Team Left 1
Team Right 1

Block 3
Shelby earns a perfect mark on the Unit 1 test so gives Team Left a point but Sara earns Team Right a point for her answer to the last question on the test.
Scores are
Team Left 2
Team Right 1

Arocena Cup Winners for First Semester 2015-2016 Year

I forgot to mention this at the end of last semester.

Winners of the Arocena Cup are as follows
In Pre-Calculus 12 there was a tie between the recently renamed Brotherhood of Steel (Brad, Kris, Austin and Markas) and Team B (Shelby, Sylvia, Sidney the non-twin and Hannah)

In Chemistry 11 there was also a tie between Team RFM (Rylin, Felicia and Megan) and Team C (Alyssa, Leah, Kelson and Mikoda)

Your names have been added to the cup!  Enjoy being part of the elite group of students that have won the Arocena Cup before you!

Chemistry 11 - Arocena Cup Results so far.

So Team Left scored 1 point earlier last week for the most insightful observation and inference about me, but Team Right struck back quickly on the last unit test picking up 2 points.  1 for the highest score on the test by Beth and 1 for Rayea's answer on the last question which I deemed the most interesting (although Mari had a good one as well)

Scores in this block are
Team Left - 1
Team Right - 2
