Math 10 Assignment

Today's assignment
- Complete Exercises p.82-83 #3-15

These questions will all use the tangent ratio we used yesterday.

Remember that
  • tan(A) = opposite/adjacent
  • the / is a division
You can use algebra and pythagoras' theorem to solve the triangles.

For example, if the triangle gives you the angle and the opposite side
  1. use the equation tan(A) = opp/adj
  2. Fill in the numbers you know (for example the angle and the opposite side)
  3. Use algebra to solve for the adjacent side. It helps if you calculate the tan(A) first using your calculator.
If you don't have enough information (for example you're missing a side) you can probably use pythagoras' theorem to
