Chemistry 12 Assignment

Today's assignment:
- Complete Exercises #56-69

For those who haven't done the Unit 2 Equilibrium test check out this playlist. It gives a good overview of the unit and some of the calculations involved.

  2. Could you post the questions? I appear to have left my text book at the school. >_<

  3. okay no problem :)

    5. hydrogen and oxygen gas react in a fuel cell to produce water according to the equation:
    2 H2 (g) + O2 (g) = 2H2O (l)
If the rate of water production is 1.34 mol/min, what is the rate of oxygen gass consumption expressed in mol/min?

    9. C) you are to measure the rate of the reaction: H2(g) + Cl2 (g) = 2HCl (g)
if the rate of consumption of hydrogen gas under certain conditions is 0.200 L/min, what is the rate of production of HCl (g) ?

  4. For both questions use the mole ratios presented in the chemical reaction equation to determine what is being asked.

For example if the ratio between what is produced and what is used is 1:1 then the rates will be the same.

Hope this makes sense. If it doesn't let me know and I'll try to make it clearer.

  5. How do you determine which precipitates form first?

  6. Check the table in the back of the text book.

You will need to find a combination of Cation (positive ion) and Anion (negative ion) that produces a Low Solubility compound.

For example if you combine AgNO3 and NaCl the possible new combinations are AgCl and NaNO3, then check if AgCl or NaNO3 produces a low solubility compound.
