However, I would like you guys to start memorizing the first 18 elements and their symbols. And maybe a few handful of other common elements (like Iron, Copper, Gold, Silver, Lead, etc.)
Memorizing these will help you guys out in this class and future chemistry classes (Science 10 namely)
